Water – islands, beaches, bayous and bays – is the main location appeal in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater area, a major production center in Florida. Pinellas County, a peninsula off Florida’s central west coast, has the Gulf of Mexico, Tampa Bay, and several other bays, coves and waterways.
The area also offers “anywhere USA” neighborhoods, jungles, small-town looks and industrial buildings, a full spectrum of locations for film, TV, commercial and other production.

Our award-winning gulf beaches naturally have fine, sugar-white sand and smaller waves, compared to the state’s Atlantic east coast. The calmer Gulf of Mexico lends itself more practically to filming on the water.
The St. Pete/Clearwater area falls within a subtropical climate, with comfortable location filming in the fall, winter and spring seasons.
